ANSWER: B) five TDs
Boilermaker Freshman Tailback Mike Northington rushed for a Purdue record five touchdowns on November 3, 1973 at Iowa's Kinnick Stadium.
Northington rushed for 146 yards on 31 attempts and Purdue Quarterback Bo Bobrowski rushed for 123 yards on 10 attempts as Purdue defeated Iowa 48-23. It was Northington's only 100-yard rushing game as a Boilermaker. He started in the offensive backfield during the 1973 and 1974 seasons. Then, he switched to defense and started at Cornerback for the 1975 and 1976 seasons. Northington also contributed to special teams by returning 30 kickoffs for 616 yards (20.5 yard average). | 1973 SEASON 09/15/73 at Wisconsin 09/22/73 Miami (Ohio) 09/29/73 Notre Dame 10/06/73 Duke 10/13/73 at Illinois 10/20/73 Northwestern 10/27/73 Michigan St 11/03/73 at Iowa 11/10/73 at Minnesota 11/17/73 Michigan
